Sushma Manda, MD
Dr. Sushma Manda was drawn to neurology from an early age. Her grandfather suffered a stroke when she was young and the experienced shaped her career path. "There were so many things he could not do on his own," Dr. Manda recalls. "That just stayed in my mind." She went on to take a neurology elective class in medical school and began to understand that there were preventive approaches to stroke, and it became her focus.
Dr. Manda completed her residency and fellowship at The State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University and began her career at a large multispecialty group practicing at two community hospitals in New Hartford, NY in 2013. She moved to Florida and spent six years in Orlando at a comprehensive stroke center as a neurohospitalist with a special interest in stroke, including telestroke practice. Dr. Manda sought out a community-oriented healthcare system where she could participate in expanding the stroke program and recently joined the Central Florida Health Medical group as a Neurohospitalist at Leesburg Regional Medical Center.
